Haichuan Yang is an assistant professor of computational intelligence at the Graduate School of Technology, Industrial and Social Sciences, Tokushima University. His research interests include meta-heuristic algorithms, artificial neuron model, complex systems, and renewable energy.

He was a recipient of the Best Paper Award at the IEEE International Conference on Progress in Informatics and Computing, the Outstanding Academic Performance Award of IEICE, and the Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation (SPRING) of JST.
